Acer Unveils New Chromebooks For Students Under A Budget

Acer is known for their gaming and business laptops, and they have been in the business for over 40+ years. While most of their laptops serve the gaming and business computing sectors, Acer fills the education department’s gap with affordable Chromebooks.

In the latest bett show, Acer introduced a new range of budget-friendly Chromebooks for students looking for more affordable and student-centric laptops for modern-day classrooms. These laptops are light, user-friendly, and rock the latest Chrome OS with the latest software updates.

The laptops, or should we say, learning machines, are built exclusively for students, and by students, we mean school and college-going students who are always in a rush to submit the next assignment. The built quality is stringent, and most of the Chromebooks come equipped with spill-resistant keyboards and shock-absorbing bumpers.

All the new models are scheduled to be released in North America in the spring of 2021. While Acer Chromebook 311 will hit the market first, the other Chromebook models will be available in April 2021.

Acer Chromebook 511

Acer Chromebook 511 is a beautiful looking laptop that comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c, making it extremely reliable with the performance and battery life of up to 20 hours. Unlike a standard Chromebook, the Acer Chromebook 511 is tested with MIL-STD810H, making it a shock-resistant and durable laptop for students. Apart from the aesthetics, Acer Chromebook 511 comes with a unique drainage system that drains accidental spills on the Keyboard. To make things a little interesting for the children, Acer reduced the overall weight of the laptop. The Acer Chromebook 511, without any accessories, weighs around 1.3kg, making it lighter than the MacBook Pro 2020.

Acer Chromebook 311

Right from the design, the Acer Chromebook 311 is exclusively made for young elementary school children. Acer Chromebook 311 is the perfect laptop for playful elementary children who keeps things messy with a more sturdy chassis and shock-absorbent bumpers. Like the Acer Chromebook 511, the Acer Chromebook 311 is also tested with the MIL-STD810H grading, considered the pinnacle for testing hardware products in the US. Additionally, the Acer Chromebook 311 comes equipped with a MediaTek MT8183 processor that provides up to 20 hours of battery life. With Acer Chromebook 311, you also get an optional touchscreen option and the zero-touch enrollment system.

Acer Chromebook Spin 512 and 511

Both the Chromebook Spin 512 and 511 are the premium Chromebooks from the latest best show reveal. The convertible feature is specially designed for students who are pursuing arts and digital illustrations. According to the sources, both the Chromebooks come with the Intel Pentium Silver or Celeron N5100 and N4500 processor. The best feature is the convertible design, but Acer added a few more features to make the Chromebooks a little more appealing. Both the Acer Chromebook Spin 512 and 511 come with scratch-resistant antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass touch displays that empower four-different modes for students. With 8GB of RAM, multiple USB 3.2 A, USB 3.2 C ports, dual cameras, MIL-STD810H standard quality, and up to 64GB eMMC storage, users are in for a great deal for their next Chromebook.

TravelMate Spin B3

With an Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass touch display and the BPR & EPA-compliant silver-ion antimicrobial shield on the Keyboard, the TravelMate Spin B3 is exclusively designed for young children. Like its other siblings, the TravelMate Spin B3 also features a convertible design, MIL-STD 810H standard, and an optional dockable Wacom AES pen for creative work. The TravelMate Spin B3 is the same as the other Chromebooks, and only the notable difference is the size and the 360-degree hinge, which makes the Chromebook a 2-in-1 laptop-cum-tablet. Due to its small dimensions, young children can easily hold it in their hand while drawing or typing on the spill-free Keyboard. Moreover, the TravelMate Spin B3 will be available in North America in April 2021, and it will be available in Europe, Middle East, and Africa in the quarter of 2021.

Conclusion

The new Chromebook series by Acer is impressive, and no doubt most of the laptops are budget-friendly and offer a ton of features and better optimization than regular laptops. With cool designs and MIL-STD810H standard build, the Chromebooks are appealing to the students and the general PC users. While Chromebooks are yet to compete with the high-end gaming laptops and machines, they sure beat them in style and portability.
